Fans worldwide have been crossing their fingers since news broke on July 17, 2019 that an updated version of Gossip Girl was on the cards. Read on to find out about the new Gossip Girl series. 

Rumour had it the popular show, based on the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar – was getting relaunched by WarnerMedia’s streaming service, HBO Max. On June 10th, 2021 the official trailer (which you can watch below) was dropped and all was revealed about the new Gossip Girl series.

Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens will be introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. Kristen Bell, who was the voice of the anonymous blogger in the original series, returns to narrate the lives of a new group of teenagers chasing influence and status through a loyal social following.

Starring Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith, the trailer introduces the new group of New York’s elite on the steps of The Met, hinting the series will address just how much social media—and the landscape of New York itself—has changed since the original show concluded.

The New Gossip Girl series premiered 8th July, 2021 and luckily for Aussies, Foxtel and its streaming service BINGE are streaming the new show.
